V Australia to fly from Melbourne and Brisbane to Phuket
Australia’s new international airline V Australia, part of the Virgin group, will start flying to Phuket three times a week from Australia – once a week from Melbourne and twice a week from Brisbane.
Special launch economy fares will start from around A$391, with business class tickets selling at prices from A$1,499. Fares include all taxes and surcharges.
Virgin Blue Airlines Group Chief Executive Brett Godfrey said, “We believe our new destinations offer very exciting opportunities. Travellers outbound will experience Australian aviation at its best. V Australia will be the only airline to offer direct flights from Brisbane and Melbourne to Phuket.” Connecting flights will be available from other key Australian ports to the Phuket flights.
V Australia, a member of the Virgin Blue Airlines group, launched in February with flights from Australia to the US. configured for three-classes.
The airline boasts that it has been “an instant hit with air travellers … due to its blend of Virgin service and a fresh take on fully inclusive, premium airline travel at consistently affordable fares.”
The Brisbane-Phuket service is set to be launched on Sunday November 22. The flights are currently scheduled as follows:
Sundays, departing Brisbane at 09:25 and arriving in Phuket at 15:40; leaving Phuket at 18:15 and landing in Brisbane at 05:40 the following day.
Fridays, departing Brisbane at 09:45 and arriving in Phuket at 15:40; leaving Phuket at 19:25 and landing in Melbourne at 08:00 the following day, with a choice of five onward flights to Brisbane the same day.
The Melbourne-Phuket service is expected to start on December 3, with the following schedule:
Thursdays, departing Melbourne at midday and landing in Phuket at 16:40; leaving Phuket on Fridays at 19:25 and landing in Melbourne at 08:00 on Saturday.
