Phuket Writers Bloc heads for bypass road
If you’ve been following this blog for a while you may recall an ex-Hollywood feller by the name of Ed Vaughan, who gave a talk to the Literary Society at Mom Tri’s Boathouse in Kata a while back. He’s at it again.
This time he’ll be delivering a two-hour workshop at the inaugural meeting of the Phuket Writers Bloc on August 15th at The Artists factory, from 7 to 9pm.
Ed , who worked in the TV and film production business in Hollywood for 33 years, will be talking about the creation of successful screenplays, including the writing of structure and dialogue , the hardware and the software, along with the addresses of helpful websites.
This the the first in what, it is hoped, will be a regular series of Writers Bloc workshops aimed at assisting writers of all kinds with information that will help technique, editing and marketing of the written word. Everyone is welcome.
The venue is John Underwood’s Artists Factory, where John designed and created the stunning metalwork and recycled wooden artifacts that continue to startle and amaze visitors to such places as Hung Fat’s restaurant in Kalim and the Indigo Pearl Resort at Nai Yang Beach.
The factory is on the Phuket Town bypass road, east side (heading toward Tesco-Lotus) approximately one kilometer south of the Toyota showroom. If you can’t find it, call 08-7892-3266.

Hi…How did the first night go? Any schedule yet for future meetings?
I gather it went well (I couldn’t be there myself). Ed will do more sessions on the topic of writing for the movies on the coming three Saturdays – August 2 and 29, and September 5. Same time, same place.
Ed Vaughan’s writing workshops in Phuket sound exciting!
I will be there next time.
Actually, I teach similar workshops called, WRITE LIKE A LOVER!
back in California, and I’d love to offer one at the Phuket Writers’ Bloc
next time I visit, too.
Best,
Teddy
